Pensioners arrested over tree felling protest have charges dropped
The prosecution case against two pensioners arrested by police after tree felling on Rustlings Road in Sheffield has been dropped.
Jenny Hockney and Freda Brayshaw were due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court this morning.
They were two of three people protesting against the controversial tree felling programme who were arrested after Sheffield City Council contractors started cutting down trees with chainsaws before dawn last November.
