Residents of five properties in Hornsea are unable to return to their homes tonight. It is hoped they will be able to do so tomorrow once safety assessments have been carried out.

Volunteers also staged a daring rescue after a vehicle got trapped by the waves.

Road closures in Hornsea and Withernsea will remain in place to allow clean-up operations to be carried out. The A1077 will also remain closed until an Environment Agency assessment has been completed.
