Former Barnsley promotion winner joins Scunthorpe United
Scunthorpe United have signed Newcastle striker Ivan Toney on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year- old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town, making 19 league appearances and scoring six goals.
He enjoyed two loan spells at Barnsley last season, where he enjoyed a double dose of Wembley success with the Tykes. While there, he won the Football League Trophy and promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.
A product of Northampton Town's youth set-up, he made 29 starts and 31 substitute appearances for the Cobblers, scoring 13 goals, before a permanent move to St James Park in 2015.
Toney has been handed the number 24 shirt and joins up with his new teammates ahead of United's trip to his hometown club on Saturday.
