Officers removed from active duty after fatal police shooting
A number of Humberside Police officers have been removed from active duty following the fatal shooting of a man in Hull.
Officers were called out yesterday morning to Francis Street after members of the public reported seeing a man roaming the streets with an axe.
Shortly after 9am: armed police called to reports of a man carying an axe on Holderness Road
9:30am: it's understood the same man was reported to be waving the weapon around a mile and a half away on Francis Street
9:35am: the man was tasered by police
9:37am: officers opened fire
The man was taken to hospital, but at 8:15pm last night, the Independent Police Complaints Commission confirmed that he had died.
The case is now being dealt with by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, who investigate all police shootings.
