10-man Hull City through to EFL Cup semi finals after beating Newcastle on penalties
Hull City beat the Championship leaders Newcastle 3-1 on penalties to reach the EFL Cup semi-final.
Newcastle had taken the lead in extra time when former Tiger Mohamed Diame prodded home Vurnon Anita's cross to score against his former club.
The lead lasted a minute, Robert Snodgrass equalising after Matz Sels had spilled Markus Henriksen's shot into his path.
It then went to the shootout where the Tigers scored all three of their penalties, with Edlin Jakupovic's save from Johan Gouffran's spot-kick seeing Hull go through.
