The UK's only 'Kiss-mas tree' is brightening up a shopping centre in Leeds - along with the future of one happy couple.

Andy Wormald and partner Lauren Berg from Pudsey became the first couple to kiss underneath the tree at the Trinity Centre - and he made the moment extra special with a marriage proposal.

DJs, an aerial contortionist, parkour entertainers, strictly ballroom dancers, a gospel choir and ballet dancers entertained crowds at the switch-on of the Christmas lights.

The tree, which is 66-foot high, is claimed to be the tallest Kiss-mas tree in Europe. It contains 25,000 lights which illuminate when two people kiss beneath it - their lips complete a circuit which activates the entire display.
