Mirfield Christmas gift appeal aims for best year yet

Residents from Mirfield, who were inspired by a TV advert to make sure no elderly person in the town would go without a card or a gift last Christmas, have begun collecting donations for this festive season.

School children visited elderly and lonely people living within their community to deliver hand made cards and the hundreds of gifts that had been collected by volunteers.

This year they are doing it all again, but hope to spread Christmas joy even further.

Donations of biscuits, chocolates, books, blankets & toiletries etc should be handed in at the following collection points by 27th November:

• Bakers Sandwich Shop (Huddersfield Road, Mirfield)

• Hopton Primary School (Lower Hopton , Mirfield)
