Stocksbridge bypass expected to remain closed for vehicle recovery after crash

The A616 Stocksbridge bypass in South Yorkshire is expected to remain closed in both directions this morning after a serious crash between a van and lorry.

The bypass is closed between A628 (Flouch) and the A6102 (Deepcar, Stocksbridge).

Motorists have reported major traffic delay with bus companies cancelling several services.

The National Police Air Service has also tweeted about a search for possible vehicle occupants.

The incident is affecting traffic from Sheffield towards the Woodhead Pass.

Police are turning traffic around at the scene.

Stagecoach bus service 201 has also been suspended as a result of the closure.
