Tim Peake to touch down at York for public talk

British ESA astronaut Tim Peake will deliver a public talk at the University of York next month as part of the UK Space Agency's Schools Conferences.

Tim spent just over six months living and working on-board the International Space Station (ISS), after launching from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on 15 December 2015.

He is about to embark on a post-flight tour of the UK this week but will touch down in York on Saturday, 5 November for the Central Hall event.

He is attending the University as part of the UK Space Agency's Schools Conferences. The York conference will celebrate the work of students inspired by Tim's Principia mission. Students will present their work to Tim through talks and exhibitions, as well as experts from the UK Space Agency, the European Space Agency (ESA), and partner organisations.

Following the conference, Tim will give a public talk and take part in a Q&A session.

The conference continues on Sunday 6 November at the University with a series of events open to the public.

Tickets for the event, which are free, are available via the University's website
