Tigers sign Ryan Mason in club record deal

Hull City have broken their Club record transfer fee to sign England midfielder Ryan Mason from Tottenham Hotspur.

Although the fee remains undisclosed, it beats the previous record amount paid to secure the services of Abel Hernandez two years ago.

25-year-old Mason has signed a three-year deal bringing his long association with Tottenham to an end.

Having progressed through the youth system at Spurs, Mason made his senior debut at the age of 17 before going on to have loan spells with Yeovil Town, Doncaster Rovers, Millwall, Leyton Orient and Swindon Town.

The last two seasons have seen Mason hold down a regular place in the Spurs squad, making 66 appearances in total, and his form led to a first England cap as he came off the bench during a 1-1 draw with Italy in March 2015.

It was one of three signings for the Tigers on the penultimate day of the transfer window, with Will Keane and goalkeeper David Marshall also penning deals at the KCOM Stadium.
