Residents told water still not fit to drink
People living in Thorne, near Doncaster have been told they still cannot use their tap water, after high levels of bacteria were detected in the local water supply.
Yorkshire Water has apologised for the ongoing problems beingexperienced by 3,600 properties and says customers should continue to follow the ‘Do Not Drink’ advice until further notice.
Additional supplies of bottled water were delivered overnight and willcontinue to be replenished throughout the day.
Yorkshire Water has been working through the night carrying out further investigations into the cause of the contamination, flushing the localwater supply system and carrying out further quality tests.
