From our archive: Pippa Middleton's fiancé on Formula One dream
Pippa Middleton's new fiancé may now be a successful City businessman but his roots are in Yorkshire.
James Matthews' father David worked as an apprentice at a garage in Thurcroft before starting a property developing business in the early 1990s.
As a teenager James was a successful racing driver, and was hoping for a career in Formula 1.
ITV Yorkshire cameras filmed him in 1995 at various circuits, where James explained his love of life in the fast lane.
The programme Edit V was presented by Geoff Druett.
The couple became engaged on Sunday - reportedly during a trip to the Lake District.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "absolutely delighted", a Kensington Palace spokesman said.
Miss Middleton was the maid of honour when the duchess married Prince William in 2011.
