Sheffield golfer Danny Willett has been confirmed as one of four players who will represent Team GB at the Olympics.

The Masters champion has shrugged off concerns about the Zika virus, which have been expressed by many of the 20 other professionals who have pulled out of the Rio games, and will fly the flag alongside Justin Rose. Charley Hull, 20, from Kettering, and Catriona Matthew, 46, from Edinburgh, will compete in the women's event.

Willett, 28, turned pro in 2008 and secured his maiden Major championship victory in memorable style earlier this season following a final round 67 at The Masters in April.

Rio 2016 will be the third time golf has appeared at the Olympic Games and is returning to the programme for the first time since St Louis 1904.

Walter Rutherford and David Robertson won silver and bronze for Great Britain at Paris in 1900.
