London legacy: Para-dressage riders aim high
A teenager from West Yorkshire is making her dream of one day competing in the Paralympics a reality following a chance encounter with her medal-winning idol.
15-year-old Izzy Palmer from Leeds was inspired by the 2012 Paralympics to have a go at para dressage. Previously, she had learned to ride as a form of therapy.
It was her ambition that led her to pluck up the courage to introduce herself to Sophie Wells from North Nottinghamshire, who clinched a gold and two silver medals in London.
Sophie is now acting as Izzy's mentor and the partnership is already reaping rewards.
