Residents plagued with swarms of flies

Householders who claim they are being plagued by flies from a nearby landfill site are calling for a full environmental health investigation.

Hundreds of residents at Duckmanton, near Chesterfield, have signed a petition calling for action.

The landfill site is owned by Viridor - the UK's largest recycling company. Today the company defended its environmental record.

Flies caught in Tiffany Jarvis' home in less than a day

There are plans to close the site by 2020 at the latest.

The Environment Agency has said it is monitoring the situation.
