CCTV shows man tackling and robbing 89-year-old woman in her own home
Shocking CCTV footage shows a man tackling an 89-year-old woman to the ground and robbing her in a "vile" attack at her home in Hull.
Alice Swale appears to be showing Dwayne Hollingworth around her home, when he knocks her to the floor and sits on top of her, pulling rings off her fingers - including a wedding band she had worn for 48 years.
Hollingworth, 27, from Hull, was jailed for nine years six months and four weeks in prison for robbing Ms Swale.
After tricking his way into the house on April 6, Hollingworth abandoned Ms Swale in distress on the floor, and continued to search the house for further items to steal.
Once he had left, Mrs Swale managed to call the police.
She had to go hospital for treatment after suffering severe bruising to her fingers and was also in shock.
Police conducted house to house enquiries in the area and reviewed CCTV that relatives had installed and quickly identified Dwayne Hollingworth who was arrested within six hours of the incident being reported.
He was found in a tent in his brother's garden.
The stolen rings were recovered and returned to the victim.
Upon arrest he admitted the offence and was charged with robbery and has been on remand since.
After Hollingworth pleaded guilty to robbery at Hull Crown Court on Monday, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC told him:
Hull Crown Court heard how he conned his way into his victim's home on the pretext of trying to sell meat he had stolen.
He then asked to use her upstairs toilet and Mrs Swale heard him making his way through her bedroom.
When he comes back to the living room, he engages her in conversation before knocking her to the floor.
Mrs Swale's son, Laurence, said he wanted the footage released to show the full extent of Hollingworth's crime.
Speaking the day after the attack Ms Swale told the police:
DC Lee Sims, from Humberside Police, said it was a "despicable offence".
Following the incident police are issuing advice to always keep your doors and windows locked if an expected caller visits your address.

Put on the door chain before opening the door
