Lincolnshire survivor of Beverley Allitt attack speaks of trauma after 25 years
A woman from Lincolnshire who survived an attack by the serial killer Beverley Allitt has spoken for the first time about her experience.
Kayley Asher was a toddler when Allitt attempted to kill her while she was working as a nurse at Grantham hospital in 1991. Allitt injected an air bubble under her arm, which resulted in two heart attacks and left her with permanent brain damage.
25 years on, Kayley said she is still traumatised by the event.
Allitt remains in Rampton Secure Hospital, after being handed 13 life sentences and jailed for a minimum of 30 years for murdering four children and attacking nine others under her care.
For Kayley, her biggest fear is that Allitt may one day be released. Her adoptive parents say it is a fear that haunts her.
