Minute's silence for Leeds United supporters murdered in Turkey 16 years ago
A minute's silence will be held at Elland Road tonight for two Leeds United supporters who were murdered in Turkey on the eve of their team's semi-final fixture against Galatasaray.
Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight travelled to Turkey to watch their team in action in April 2000, but never returned home.
In 2010 it was announced that Ali Umi Demir, Ali Baydar, Suleyman Gokhan Guven and Yilmaz Tutush had lost their appeal against their convictions and would return to prison to serve sentences totalling 28 years and four months.
Today the club said their memory will 'never be forgotten' by fans worldwide.
Tributes are paid yearly at the nearest home fixture to the anniversary of their passing.
