A family from South Yorkshire have made a heartfelt appeal to try and track down the killers of pensioner Tommy Ward.

The 80-year-old died in Rotherham Hospital last week after suffering devastating head and facial injuries during the brutal attack in Maltby last October.

The retired miner was found badly injured in his home on Salisbury Road. Around £30,000 of life savings had been taken from a safe, which is still missing.

Now a Maltby garage owner is offering a five thousand pound reward for information which could lead to Tommy Ward's killer.

Tommy's grandson Luke, who works at Ryan's garage has welcomed the reward. He says someone out there must know something - and is either afraid to come forward or involved with it.

It is hoped the reward on offer will help police on their hunt for those who attacked him.
