Protesters hoping to re-open Haworth fire station staged a march through the village today.

Around 60 people joined the demonstration. They had hoped to re-open the fire station as an an emergency hub to accommodate police and fire fire personnel as well as first aiders.

But the fire service say they can not commit to the scheme at the moment because of budget cuts.

Steve Thorpe who organised the protest said he hoped it would make the fire authority 'come to its senses'.
