Leeds Fans Utd flex their muscles despite Massimo Cellino's U-turn last week
Chief Executive Dylan Thwaites has reassured fans that despite Cellino going back on his offer to sell the club, LFU have proven to be serious contenders in the bid for the club.
Having proven the ability to stump up the money to fund the club as a majority shareholder, LFU are now in a substantially better position according to Mr Thwaites.
Mr Thwaites believes the move has raised awareness of the appetite for a fan owned club at Leeds and hopes it will encourage "good buyers" to come forward. He has promised shareholders that LFU has a clear strategy going forward as they continue talks with potential bidders.
However some supporters disagree that Cellino should sell the club at all. The Facebook group, 'In Massimo We Trust' has rallied thousands of fans and has expressed frustration at all the bad press surrounding the Italian owner.
Despite a lot of fans wishing Cellino would leave the club quietly, there are some who believe his financial contribution has been the club's saving grace.
