Henri the eighth set to rain over us

The Met Office has issued a yellow 'be aware' warning of heavy rain including the Calendar region. The rain is associated with ex tropical storm Henri. Most parts of the warning area should see 15-30 mm of rain, however some places could see as much as 40-70 mm - in excess of two inches of rainfall. A complex area of low pressure, including 'Henri', is expected to deepen over the Bay of Biscay later today (Tuesday) and into Wednesday, before pushing north towards the UK. Rain will arrive into Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Wednesday afternoon and will move slowly northwards Wednesday night into Thursday. This is a very complex development, consequently uncertainty is large in timings and areas most at risk of heavy rainfall. As such this warning will be updated as confidence in developments increases.Another feature of the weather Wednesday will be the strong and gusty northeasterly winds which will be strongest at the North Sea coast. This will make it feel quite cold.

There will be further showers Thursday and Friday (some thundery) but there will be sunshine as well. Good news for the weekend though, indications are it will be fine with long sunny spells. I'll update you all as we head into the second half of the week.
