Hull KR players revisit 80's classic ahead of Challenge Cup Final
Hull Kingston Rovers have teamed up with 80's pop group, Erasure, to record a charity version of their song “A Little Respect” to mark the club’s appearance in this season’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final.
Social media footage of Rovers fans singing along to the tune after the recent semi-final victory over Warrington first attracted Erasure lead singer Andy Bell’s attention to the club.
It then lead to the first team squad providing their vocals over the original backing track and will now become the club’s official song for the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final against Leeds Rhinos at Wembley on Saturday, 29th August.
The charity single is expected to prove popular with Robins supporters celebrating a first Challenge Cup Final appearance in almost 30 years after they adopted the song as the club’s second anthem in recent weeks.
Proceeds from the new edition of “A Little Respect” will be split between the Terrence Higgins Trust, a charity nominated by Andy which supports people with HIV, and Hull KR’s joint Charities of the Year for 2015 Downright Special and Freddie’s Friends.
