Emmerdale wins big at the Inside Soap Awards

ITV’s rural soap ‘Emmerdale’ had a great night last night at the annual Inside Soap Awards, scooping three awards.

It was success for bad boy Michael Parr who walked away with the ‘Best Newcomer’ award beating off competition from Eastenders and Hollyoaks.

Amelia Flanagan, who plays Verity Rushworth’s onscreen daughter April, collected the award for Best Young Actor. Laura Norton picked up the award for 'Funniest Female' for her portrayal of unlucky in love Kerry Wyatt beating off competition from previous winner Eastenders’ Tameka Empson.

Eastenders collected the top prize for ‘Best Soap’ along with three other awards whilst Coronation Street also walked away for four awards including 'Best Bad Boy'.
