Ranby prison disturbance: 'could happen again' warn union
The Prison Officers' Association says it cannot rule out strike action if there is a repeat of the weekend's disturbances at the north Nottinghamshire jail. Specially trained guards were sent into Ranby Prison near Retford after sixty prisoners took control of a wing of the jail for several hours. It came just days after the Chief Inspector of Prisons described Ranby as being "in crisis" and "unsafe". David Hirst reports.
