Schools expected to close during strike action

Hundreds of schools are to close tomorrow as teachers strike in a long running row over over pay, pensions and workload. Thousands of pupils are likely to be affected, as members of two teaching unions take part in the walk out.

Parents are being advised to contact their local council to find out if their schools are open.
