Royal British Legion 'pop-in' centre opens in Leeds

Legion celebrate centre opening in Leeds

The Royal British Legion has opened one of its sixteen new pop-in centres in Leeds.

The new centre on Albion Street was opened by Mick Woosnam and Angela Butler, both from the city, who have benefitted from the Legion’s support.

Each centre will offer a welcoming space for Service personnel and veterans to get practical help and advice, and for members of the public to find out more about the wide range of services and community activities provided by the Legion.

The Legion has also made office space available to partner charities Combat Stress and Regular Forces Employment Association.

Through this collaborative approach the aim is to provide a more seamless beneficiary service.

The charity has helped 974 serving personnel, veterans and their families across Yorkshire providing help with debt management, housing support and representing them at tribunals for compensation.
