Leeds cancer doctor to take part in NHS campaign run
A Leeds cancer doctor is taking part in an ultra marathon today from the Department of Health in Leeds, to Nick Clegg's Sheffield Hallam constituency.
Doctor Clive Peedell who works at Leeds' Cookridge Hospital is also the National Health Action Party leader. He is taking part in the event to express his concern over NHS reforms.
He will be running 35 miles dressed as David Cameron and will be running with fellow oncologist Dr David Wilson on a lead, dressed up as "Cleggy", his orange poodle. He's calling it "The Cleggython".
Dr Peedell, who is also doing a 65 mile run on July 5/6th to mark the 65th anniversary of the NHS (dubbed "The CAM-arathon"), has previously completed the 160 mile Bevan run from Cardiff to Whitehall.
