M62 closed after overturned lorry spills 10 tonnes of fish
A section of the M62 eastbound has closed after an overturned lorry spilled 10 tonnes of fish on the carriageway.
Humberside Police were called just before 3am to reports of a lorry having overturned between junctions 34 and 35.
The 47-year-old male driver of the lorry suffered head injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. An ambulance treated him at the scene.
The 44-tonne lorry was carrying a load of around 10 tonnes of frozen fish, much of which spilled onto the road.
The lorry itself is blocking the whole road and some of the frozen fish has also spread over onto the opposite carriageway.
A full closure is currently in place at junction 34 eastbound of the M62 with diversions via the A19 and A645 or the A19, A63 and A1041 for high vehicles.
The closure is expected to remain in place for some time.
