Memorial services are being held today to mark the 60th anniversary of the Great Flood, which claimed dozens of lives on the East Coast in the Calendar region.

More than three hundred people died nationally in 1953 when severe gales and a high tide caused the North Sea to surge inland.

In Hull, it's hoped new tidal defences will prevent it ever happening again.
