Police in North Yorkshire are carrying out an underwater search of the River Ouse today as part of the enquiry to find missing York man, Chris Baker.

The 29-year-old was last seen on Thursday 20th December.

Police believe he was driving to work as an accountant for the City Healthcare Partnership at Hull Royal Infirmary when he suddenly abandoned his grey Renault Megane on Skledergate Bridge in York city centre at around 7.15am.

Officers say he then gestured to a woman in the car behind him before jumping over the wall of Skeldergate Bridge into Tower Gardens, on the banks of the River Ouse.

He has not been seen since.

Officers have been making enquiries in the area to try and find Chris but unfortunately, their search has been hampered by the high river levels around York.
