Ben Parkinson and St Leger bikers bring Christmas spirit to Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Ben Parkinson and St Leger bikers with young patients

Youngsters on the children’s ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary had a smile put on their faces, thanks to local bikers and war-hero, Ben Parkinson.

Ben joined the St Leger Chapter, Harley Davidson bikers on their annual visit to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, with an array of presents which were personally delivered to the young patients.

Dressed as santas, elves and even a fairy the bikers ride to the hospital on their Harleys each year with presents that all members buy and wrap themselves. This is the seventh year they have been and as some of the members are close friends of Ben’s they thought it would be nice for him to join them as well.

Lee Gilbert from St Leger Chapter, said: “Everyone enjoys coming to the hospital each year, and this year was particularly special because Ben joined us too. It is wonderful to see the smiles on the children’s faces when we visit them.”

Trust spokesperson said: “We were delighted that Ben was able to join the bikers on their annual visit this year. It was a lovely treat for the children to see them and receive a present too. Thank you to everyone involved.”
