Newsquest journalists in York may go on strike

Newsquest journalists are striking over pay being frozen for a third year

Journalists from local newspaper publisher Newsquest are expected to go on strike today in York.

The journalists who are part of the National Union of Journalists are holding a 'compulsory meeting' at 10am today in response to their pay being frozen for a third year.

The York division walked out for a day last month after being told they would be docked a full day’s pay for a ten-minute union meeting.
