Regional Growth Fund: "Scandalous"

A Government grant scheme designed to help boost growth and jobs in our region has been branded "scandalous" by a committee of MPs.

The Regional Growth Fund was set up after Regional Development Agencies like Yorkshire Forward were scrapped.

But the Public Accounts Committee says just £60 million of the £1.4 billion pounds set aside for the scheme has reached front-line projects.

The Government insists “significant progress” has been made since the committee held the evidence sessions on which it based its report.

We have spoken to Jason McCartney the Conservative MP for Colne Valley about it.

And Margaret Hodge MP, Public Accounts Committee.
