Missing hiker "may have strayed off path in fog"
Spanish authorities searching for a missing hiker from North Yorkshire say they are staying positive about the prospects of finding him.
63 year old Gordon Simm from Kirkbymoorside went missing after leaving his hotel for a walk in the mountains and around the Chillar river near Malaga last weekend.
The Civil Guard which is responsible for coordinating the search, says Mr Simm may have become disorientated in fog last Sunday morning, and strayed off his path, possibly wandering into the province of Granada.
The Malaga Civil Guard, Mountain Rescue teams, the helicopter unit, dog teams and the provincial fire service are all involved in the search.
Mr Simm's family told the Civil Guard that he is a physically fit, experienced hiker who knows the Sierra de Almijara Mountains well.
