Father's campaign results in police force taking on new law
A father who campaigned for a new law after his daughter died at the hands of her abusive partner has made headway, as a police force today started the first trial of 'Clare's Law'
Clare Wood was murdered by her former boyfriend George Appleton. He had a history of domestic violence, but he hid it from her.
Clare's father, Michael Brown who's from Dewsbury, has since fought for the right for women to check if a partner has previous convictions. Gwent Police in Wales will now be able to disclose information if they fear someone is at risk of abuse.
