91-year-old World War Two veteran Freddie Johnson from Tadcaster is travelling to London for the unveiling of a memorial dedicated to him and his Bomber Command colleagues. He holds the Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry and managed to survive 92 bombing missions during the war. He was also shot down twice. He helped raise money for the tribute which honours his comrades who did not come home.
