Bradford shooting 'was targeted'

A 31-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was shot in the leg on Clayton Road, Bradford on Saturday 9th June.

It happened around 5.20pm as the man was walking back to his car after calling at shops, close to the junction of Clayton Road and Hollingwood Avenue.

The injured man is still in hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Officers are treating it as a targeted attack and are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

The suspect is described as male and was believed to be wearing dark clothing. He is thought to have approached the victim from nearby Lowell Avenue and then fled on foot in the same direction.

The investigation is at an early stage and no arrests have been made at the present time.
