Spider T returns home

Spider T Credit: Calendar

Historic cargo barge Spider T is returning home to the Humber after taking part in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee flotilla on the Thames.

Spider T is the last remaining “Humber Super Sloop” sail powered cargo vessel. She was launched in 1926 and has sunk twice, but was rescued and lovingly restored by her current owner, Mal Nicholson.

Over 1000 vessels took part in the flotilla on the Thames from Battersea to Tower Bridge. It was one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river.
