Saved by daughter's internet appeal

A mum from Barnsley's life has been saved following an appeal by her daughter on the internet to find her a kidney donation.

Sam White inherited polycystic kidneys from her father, which means that over time that kidney function deteriorates and they can no long process toxins. This would have meant going on dialysis.

But Sam's 10-year-old daughter, Eve, set about finding her mum a new kidney by putting an appeal online.

A donor came forward, a friend and colleague of Sam's, Katie, and the operation was carried out. We caught up with Sam five weeks after the surgery to find out what her initial thoughts were.
