Detectives investigating the disappearance of a woman in Halifax nine years ago, have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

It follows a new appeal for information about what happened to 34-year-old Lisa Ambler, who was last seen in the West Yorkshire town in August 2003.

At the time the 34-year-old mother-of-two was living in a tent on Southowram Bank with her boyfriend.

Specialist search teams have been involved in the investigation, which has focused on railway arches near Berry Lane and the canal basin at Salterhebble.

Lisa Ambler has two children who are now in their 20s and her mother died two years ago, not knowing what happened to her.

A 38-year-old man from Halifax was arrested on suspicion of murder this morning.
