Selling an Olympic torch
A swimmer and water polo player from South Yorkshire, who is an Olympic Torchbearer, has already put his torch on Ebay, even though he has not carried it yet. Ben Pacey, from Doncaster, had leukaemia several years ago and needed a bone marrow transplant. Thanks to the transplant charity, Anthony Nolan, he was able to find a donor and now competes again at international level. Ben has put the torch on Ebay to raise funds to compete in the World Transplant Games in South Africa next year, as he gets no other funding, and he is also giving 10% of what he makes to Anthony Nolan. He has not yet received his torch, but will be carrying it on June 26th, when the torch travels from Grimsby to Sheffield.
