Latest: Wakefield Cathedral VAT campaign

A seven year old girl from Wakefield will deliver a letter to the Prime Minister, complaining about the proposed introduction of VAT on repairs to listed buildings.

Wakefield Cathedral has recently begun a major refurbishment project, which is under threat because of the proposed tax.

Sophie Clucas will travel to London with her mother and grandmother to deliver the letter.

Earlier this year the Dean of Wakefield's wife, Pamela Greener, composed a song to raise awareness of the cathedral's plight.
