There could be help for hundreds of workers facing job losses at BAE in Brough. The think-tank Civitas is looking at how feasible it would be to build the UK’s first passenger plane in 20 years at the site in East Yorkshire. It would be part of a plan to design and develop a green aircraft to meet the needs of low-cost travel. The Hawk jet has been manufactured at Brough for nearly 100 years, but last September the company announced over 800 job losses at the factory.
