Walking with the Wounded Everest Challenge 2012
Captain David Wiseman, from Tadcaster, was shot by the Taliban in 2009. A bullet lodged in his lung. But now he and a team of wounded servicemen are aiming for the top of the world - they plan to successfully climb Mount Everest in aid of Prince Harry's charity Walking with the Wounded.
It follows the outstanding success of an earlier North Pole expedition.
The 2012 Everest Challenge will involve a seven day trek from Eastern Nepal to Base Camp
y trek from Namche Bazaar in Eastern Nepal to Base Camp – when up to 8 severely injured service personnel will push themselves to their limits. Then part of the expedition will continue on the second leg - the assault on the summit. Find out more by clicking here.
