Osprey lands at Bassenthwaite
An osprey has landed close to the nest at Bassenthwaite.
It currently has no ID, so it is not known whether the bird is one that has nested at the site in the past.
Staff and volunteers at the Lake District Osprey Project hope this will be the 19th year that ospreys breed here.
The Dodd Wood viewpoints, where visitors can see the birds, re-opened for the season on Monday 1 April.
