Mountain Rescue Teams re-issue warning to walkers
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were called early yesterday morning to a group of ten walkers who had gone out in the dark, unprepared for the conditions.
The team are asking those heading out onto the fells to make sure they have all of the equipment they need and know how to use it following a number of, what they say are, avoidable call outs.
Last night's group set off without a map and a compass, intending to rely on their phone GPS maps for direction. They got in trouble when they lost signal.
The MRT were able to guide them down without calling out other volunteers.
