17-year-old who died in Moffat named by police

A 17-year-old who died after being found unconscious at an address in Moffat has been named by police as Calum Lumb from the High Street in the town.

Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding his death, which is being treated as suspicious.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in relation to the incident.

Officers remain at the scene while forensics examine the property.

Chief Inspector Stephen Stiff said:

I can say at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this matter and the public should be reassured that their safety is a priority for Police Scotland. I would again stress that there is no danger whatsoever to the local community in the aftermath of this dreadful incident."
