A bomb disposal team had to travel 90 miles to carry out a controlled explosion on a 'suspicious' car, after a blunder by Cumbria Police.

However, the silver Vauxhall had been left outside Workington Police Station by officers, who were trying to help after the owner of the vehicle became ill.

The mistake meant a long trip for the two-man bomb disposal team from Catterick in North Yorkshire.
