Winter storms: travel and schools updates
Storms Desmond, Eva and Frank brought chaos to Cumbria and the south of Scotland, leading to heavy flooding and mass road closures.
Since then, many roads have also been affected by snow and ice.
A66 closed in both directions
The A66 is closed both ways closed due to an overturned lorry and recovery work between A685 / B6276 New Road (Brough) and A6 Kemplay Bank / A686 Carleton Avenue (Kemplay Bank Roundabout, Penrith).
